It appears Kevin Stewart’s time on Merseyside is coming to an end, the Reds midfielder leaving the training camp in Hong Kong in order to return to England after a fee was agreed with Hull City in the region of £5 million possibly rising to £8 million a decent fee for someone who doesn’t appear to feature in Jurgen Klopp’s plans as anything more than a bit part player.
Stewart joined Liverpool in 2014 after his contract at Tottenham had expired stating it was a ???dream move’. Originally part of the under-21 squad, Stewart had stints out on loan at Chesterfield and Burton, before joining Swindon Town for the 2015-16 season.
After being recalled in January of 2016 he went straight into the first team, starting both games in the FA Cup against Exeter City. Since then Stewart has been a semi-regular member of the first team appearing periodically off the bench.
It’s not the first time their has been interest in Stewart this transfer window with reports of Brighton looking to make a move for him, however with the midfielder returning to England from the tour, it would appear this time he will be moving on from Liverpool.
Stewart will leave the club as a player who is much improved from when he first joined and was struggling to find his spot as a fullback in the under-21s. Stewart has proven he has talent and is a player who gives his all in every game, running himself ragged for the team.
