???️ KENT TO HULL

Liverpool are deep in discussions for the signing of £8m rated left back Andrew Robertson. In comparison to most of Liverpool’s dealings this summer it is going smoothly, which is a relief. Klopp seems to have settled for Robinson as his primary left back target this summer as he wants cover for the aging James Milner. Deciding to go for Robinson, who is significantly cheaper than the likes of Benjamin Mendy, will likely mean there will be more money left for the big transfer deals we are perusing. However, an interesting development in the negotiations is that Hull are apparently interested in signing Ryan Kent on loan for the season as a sweetener for the deal. Kent has looked decent in pre-season games showing pace and flair against Tranmere as he set up Woodburn for his chance that ended up with the second penalty of the night. The Oldham born Liverpool youngster, who has only one competitive appearance to his name signed a 4 ½ year contract on his 18th birthday in 2014. In order to help his development, Kent needs to start playing regular first team football and at Liverpool he is always going to be further down the pecking order. Going to Hull in the championship could be a good fit for Kent, who would be more likely to play first team competitive football as a result. At the age of 20 Kent should be aiming to be either pushing the first team members for a position in matchday squads, or going out on loans like these. If he does go on loan and turns out to be a valuable first team member in the Hull side, then it would be good progress for him. However, if he struggles to get games then maybe it could be time to part company with the winger.
