Loan Watch Divok Origi netted his first goal for Wolfsburg this week, in what turned out to be a positive week for most of the Liverpool Loanees’ Divok Origi played the full 90 mins for Wolfsburg as they managed to get their first win of the campaign on Tuesday night, while we struggled to score against bloody Leicester City. With Mario Gomez out injured for Wolfsburg it has pilled the pressure on Origi to perform for the German outfit as he is now their main striker until Gomez returns. And perform he did. The Belgian netted in only the 28th minute in what was admittedly a tap in from a great cross into the danger area but the striker was in the right place at the right time. A key attribute for any good striker. Keeping in the Bundesliga, Ryan Kent made his Freiburg debut at the weekend after joining the team on a season long loan from the reds on deadline day. His Debut did not come under the best of circumstances as he came on at half time in a game where Freiburg were losing 3-0 thanks to a Kevin Volland brace and a strike from Charles Aranguiz. This was however a good opportunity for Kent to come on and impress in a game where his team had nothing more to lose. He performed well given the circumstances, impressing with his dribbling and pace. Sheyi Ojo sat out the game at the weekend as Fulham drew 1-1 against Cardiff City, having made his long-awaited return from injury in the midweek game last Wednesday. In that game, he played 90 mins before he was substituted for Kamara just before the end of the game. The winger did well on his chance, providing an assist for the first goal which was scored by Floyd Ayite. Both Taiwo Awoniyi and Allan Rodrigues cannot play for the reds due to a work permit situation and have been sent on loan until that has been sorted out. Awoniyi seems to be settling in well at Mouscron having played the full 90 mins at Zulte Waregem and scoring a great goal in the process. Whereas Allan Rodriguez was an unused sub for Apollon Limassol in their Europa League game against Lyon. That’s right, the very same Europa League group that Everton made us feel a little better about ourselves by being extra shite against Atalanta midweek. Hopefully Allan can make enough of an impact in the time between now and when Apollon play the Ev so he can grab a goal and really add salt into their wounds Elsewhere: Connor Randall is still out injured, Pedro Chirivella got an assist against Roda JC, Jordan Williams, Brooks Lennon and Toni Gomes got some minutes. While our loanee goalkeeper, Shamal George, got an unlikely assist when his Carlisle played Barnet.   Article by Tom Culshaw
