Hong Kong Tour – Who’s in and who’s out?Liverpool’s tour of Hong Kong begins on Wednesday with Jurgen Klopp taking a 25-man squad over for the Asia Trophy. There are a few notable absentees from the travelling party, namely Sadio Mane who is still recovering from the knee injury that prematurely ended his first season for the reds back in April. After loans at both Sporting CP and Hull City last season, Lazar Markovic would have been hoping to finally prove he was worth the £20 million Liverpool paid out for him back in 2014.However the absence of his name on the squad list for the tour seems to signal the end of his disappointing career with the Reds, with clubs such as Watford, Galatasaray and Zenit all reportedly interested in what could be a cut price deal for the Serbian.Mamadou Sakho is not included in the squad, continuing his yearlong exile leading back to last pre-season when he turned up late to various meetings and medical exams on the tour of the US. It seems as though Sakho’s Liverpool career is completely dead in the water although where he will be when the season starts in August remains to be seen, with the Reds opponents on Wednesday, Crystal Palace seemingly ending their interest in the French international in favour of Dutch duo Bruno Martins Indi and Jairo Riedewald.Klopp has brought along both Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who both impressed when given chances in the first team last season, as well as Ryan Kent who spent the whole of last season on loan at Barnsley, winning their young player of the year award in an impressive spell. Marko Grujic and Jon Flanagan will both be looking to prove that their future lies at the club after dissapointing years that saw them play minimal amounts of football. Grujic spending most of the season on the bench whilst Flanagan had an unimpressive stint at Burnley.Both of Liverpool’s new signings, Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah are als on the tour and will be looking to impress ahead of the upcoming season, especially for Solanke who will be looking to break into the first team over the course of the season.
