Chelsea vs Liverpool has provided tons of incredible goals down the years, since the beginning of the Premier League, the fixture has only ended goalless five times in all competitions with an average of 2.49 goals per match. The quality that both teams have possessed over the years has meant that it was always going to be a fixture that is full of goals and memorable moments, below our my pick for the top five goals vs Chelsea:
5. Jordan Henderson
Liverpool made a blistering start to the 2016/17 campaign, beating Arsenal and Chelsea and drawing away to Spurs inside their first five Premier League games. In the meeting at Stamford bridge, Liverpool came out 2-1 victors after goals from Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson.
The captains goal was a contender for Goal of the season (until Emre Can scored against Watford) and it won the BBC’s goal of the month award for September. Henderson controls a clearance from Gary Cahill perfectly, before lifting his head up and curling the ball into the far corner from more than 30 yards out.
It left goalkeeper Thibout Courtois with no chance and the strike was very Gerrard-esque from the legends successor.

4. Daniel Agger
After losing the first leg 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool had it all to do in the second leg of a Champions League semi final against Chelsea in 2007. With a lead to defend, the blues would prove to be a hard team to break down so when Daniel Agger ran onto a smart free kick routine in the 22nd minute it gave Liverpool the breakthrough they needed.
Not only is it a great goal in terms of importance but the technique showed by the Danish centre half is second to none. Many teams have tried and failed this routine with the sweeping shot proving hard to master but Daniel Aggers composure and brilliance is what led Liverpool to another Champions League final.

3. Glen Johnson
A moment of individual brilliance from the former Chelsea man gave Liverpool a last gasp winner at Stamford Bridge in November 2011. With a Chelsea team boasting two former Liverpool players in Torres and Meireles it was fitting that the former Chelsea player scored the winner for Liverpool.
After future Liverpool player Sturridge equalised for Chelsea, the game looked to be ending as a draw. That was until Glen Johnson latched onto a Charlie Adam pass before nutmegging Ashley Cole and slotting the ball past Petr Cech with his left foot.
David Luiz running back onto the line couldn’t prevent the ball going in and Johnsons stunning goal meant Liverpool left with all three points.

2. Fernando Torres
A goal chosen so high up due to its importance, in February on the 2008/09 season Liverpool welcomed Chelsea to Anfield with both teams looking to close the gap on first placed Manchester United. The Red Devils had stretched the gap to five points and whatever team lost the game would have some work to do to catch up.
With both teams wary of dropping points in such an important game, the game looked certain to be ending in a 0-0 draw; more suitable for Chelsea than Rafa Benitez’ men. That was until Fernando Torres got on the end of a Fabio Aurelio cross to head it past Petr Cech in the 89th minute.
That goal and a Torres second minutes later snatched the victory for Liverpool and put them to within two points of the league leaders.

1. Luis Garcia
The obvious pick for the best goal against Chelsea, Luis Garcia’s ghost goal is still commemorated to this day by the player every Halloween on Instagram. After drawing the first leg 0-0 everything was to play for at Anfield, after just five minutes Milan Baros was put through by a flick from Steven Gerrard and got his boot there before Petr Cech. The chance seemed gone until Luis Garcia darted in before the Chelsea players and poked the ball towards the goal.
The ball was cleared by William Gallas but the referees (rightly) judged that the ball crossed the line, Luis Garcia’s goal turned out to be the only one of both ties and sent Liverpool to Istanbul where they would complete the famous comeback against AC Milan in the final.
