It is Wednesday 17th November, 20 years ago today Dietmar Hamann made his 100th game for the Reds. The popular German went on to make 283 appearances for Liverpool and won a slew of honours.
Didi is an interesting character, and stories of his exploits have followed him around after his retirement. Whether sharing a packet of Malboro Reds with David Moores in the showers in Istanbul, or ‘celebrating life’ with Sven-Goran Eriksson and a bottle of champagne, Der Kaiser always seemed to be at the heart of the action!
