The 6th Anne Williams Memorial Golf Day will be held at Huyton & Prescott Golf Club on Friday 6th July. All money raised will be going to Autism Adventures and An Hour For Others.
The annual golf day honours Anne’s memory as well as raising awareness for other charities and the Hillsborough justice campaign. Anne campaigned for over 20 years after she lost her 15-year-old son Kevin at Hillsborough and submitted evidence to the government requesting a new inquiry three times. Anne passed away in April 2013 after a battle with Cancer, just a few months after the original inquest verdicts for accidental deaths quashed.
In 2016 they raised over £4,000 for their chosen charities and last year they had a record number of participants. Speaking in 2017 her daughter Sara said ???We feel so proud and honoured that everyone involved keeps the golf day going in honour of our mum’
Dozens of amateur golfers join in on the day as well as Hillsborough survivors and their family members. Keep an eye out for a donations page and any contributions you can make on the day will be appreciated.
Anne will always be remembered as the ‘Iron Lady’ having been so heavily involved in fighting for Justice for the 96 along with other members of the families who lost loved ones that day.
