Another day, another batch of Jordan Henderson exit speculation as Liverpool’s captain appears to get ever closer to leaving Anfield for the Middle East.
Following an early update from James Pearce claiming that the 33-year-old had verbally accepted a three-year deal to join Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq, we spoke to a man at the forefront of the transfer saga, Dave OCKOP to get the latest for a Transfer Insight show.
‘The SCALE of it is CRAZY!’ – Middle East Football Expert on Saudi Interest in Jordan Henderson!
Dave said:
“My gut tells me he will move on. At the moment I believe that representatives speaking on behalf of Jordan Henderson have asked for a little bit of time to go back to speak to Liverpool and come back and see where things are at.
“I think of all players in the club if one said ‘this is what I personally want to do, can you make it happen?’, of all players in the club he’s one that the club might make that exception for.”

Redmen Reacts
Ultimately now whether Henderson stays or goes this summer for many this whole saga will be enough to cloud their stance on the Reds’ captain. Albeit perhaps not unforgivable, seemingly angling for a move away on the eve of the campaign won’t sit well with the Anfield faithful and containing in a captaincy role would be extremely difficult for the England midfielder.
Whilst there is still plenty left to run in this saga yet, and indeed time for the club and Henderson himself to rectify the situation one way or another, the current uncertainty is unhealthy for every party involved, particularly as Jurgen Klopp and the squad ar set to fly out to Germany tomorrow for the first leg of their pre-season tours.
