Frustrating first half that. Credit to Brighton of course, well organised and defended superbly. Unless your on Twitter of course, then the world was about to fucking end. Gini is shite, Hendo is shite and as one person put it “our season is about to collapse.” Baffles me to be honest.  Yes, we lacked penetration and urgency but Brighton defended well, that is possible isn’t it?Second half much better, more speed, more movement and a penalty early doors helped settle things.Anyway here’s my thoughts, if you don’t agree let me know @rossic89 or if you do agree, let me know.Alisson – 7Could have give him anything to be honest, did he have anything to do? Probably spent most of the game looking at Glenn Murray’s terrible comb over. Stop fighting it and shave it off lad.Trent – 6.5Teased Brighton in the warm up thinking he was injured. Nah, he’s sound! Nobody had the best first half to be fair, he picked up his passing in the second and looked much better.Fabinho – 7 Fucking quality block on the hour mark. Brighton should have scored. Was caught out once or twice positionally but he’s been drafted in at CB, fair fucks to the fella. Took a few blows to the face, it’s ok, he’s hard. Big Virg – 8I spent the first ten minutes just watching him, feel like I’ve been cheating on Alisson and Bobby. I noticed he marshals the midfield as well as the defence, particularly when they have their back to goal, he tells them where the pass is on and it fill me with fucking joy, it’s so simple yet we’ve lacked it for years.I wouldn’t argue with him. If he says its Thursday, it’s fucking Thursday! Robertson – 8 Honestly this is getting silly now, can someone get me his fucking diet plan? I know I can’t expect to run like him if I continue to put crisps on sandwiches and eat chocolate for breakfast because “I got it for Christmas.” I say this every week but I still can’t work out how he gets up and down that pitch. Henderson – 6.5The midfield was tough today and we should be used to low block sides putting numbers in midfield knowing we lack creativity at times. Loads of calls for him to be replaced by Keita at half time were understandable. The odd occasion he did try a forward ball it didn’t pay off. Gini – 6.5Still a solid performance from Gini but he was always going to struggle when up against a 5/6 man Brighton midfield. Difficult to break down and difficult to play balls through. Defensively he was bang on for me, never shy in the tackle and in the right place to break down the rare Brighton attack. Shaqiri – 6Quiet by his standards, often out numbered. Probably should have done better with his header in the first half, he’s only about 2ft tall though. Seems to be better when coming on as a sub at times. Mane – 6.5None existent first half, not really helped by our midfield or Brighton’s setup. Often criticised for his end product but he runs players into the ground, causes chaos and creates space for others.Salah – 9Won the penalty, scored the penalty. Not much to show in the first half but second half I thought he was incredible. Dropped deep to get involved, helped out defensively, all topped off by winning the fucking game. One season wonder my arse.  Firmino – 7.5His defensive work is so understated. Always gets compared to other ‘9s’ around the world. Don’t bother. I guarantee no other 9 has the work rate of this fella. Much more effective in the second half, even more so as the game opened up. Milner –  6Keita – N/ADivock – N/A Let me know your thoughts below! 16+ PODCASTS P/MONTH ???? 12+ SHOWS P/MONTH ✍ DAILY ARTICLES INC ‘SPECIAL GUEST WRITERS’ ⭐ EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS – INC JURGEN KLOPP! ???? Pre and Post Match Shows
