Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 0-7 to go six points clear at the top of the table.

Quality Performance

How about that ey?

An outstanding performance from Liverpool today with every goal being an unbelievable one. A good first half performance going in 0-3 at half time, Crystal Palace definitely gave us some scary moments and probably should have had a goal or two themselves.

Takumi Minamino started it all within the first three minutes, a great ball in from Trent Alexander-Arnold to find Sadio Mane who then picks out Taki who finishes brilliantly definitely put a dent in Palaces game plan. That will do the world of good for Minamino and he went on to have a really good 90 minutes.

Roberto Firmino at his absolute best, his first goal was brilliant and his outside of the foot pass to find Andy Robertson and then charge forward and get on the end of his cross with a lovely finish was brilliant. His second goal was delightful too and his all-around game performance was just top-notch.

Andy Robertson was unbelievable yet again. It’s hard to find words to describe the left-back and his performances. He should be knackered considering the number of minutes he has played but it doesn’t seem to have bothered him at all! Same can be said for Gini Wijnaldum, some really consistent performances from him recently and I’m glad he has been getting the recognition he deserves.

Sadio Mane with a great assist and goal today too and we’re all happy the goal drought is now over for him. You can see why he was a bit annoyed coming off because who wouldn’t want to stay on the pitch with the team performing like that but I’m glad he got a rest in the end.

Mo Salah comes on runs riot also bagging himself two goals, you could say he was lucky with his first one but the second one was out of this world and it’s nice to see the return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and him and Salah picking up where they left off as they’Ve always had a good understanding on the pitch.

Jurgen Klopp must have had a good word with the players after the Fulham game because their performance against Tottenham and today at Palace was brilliant. It’s great to see him on the sidelines being very animated even when we’re five/six/seven goals up and that’s the mentality you want from your players and manager because that’s the mentality of a winner.

I could sit here and do a paragraph on every single player but that’s too many words unfortunately but a classy team performance with some very clinical finishing in front of goal.

Captain’s Performance

I wanted to highlight Jordan Henderson separately because I thought he was brilliant today and has been brilliant all season. He gets missed when talking about Premier League midfielders because there are some quality players but Henderson is one of the most consistent players in the league I think.

We’re 7-0 up and he’s still going around barking orders at players and making sure everyone is still doing their role and that highlights how important he is. A great finish for his goal also and you’ve seen him in that position a few times this season but he never quite gets it right but today he certainly did.

West Brom Up Next

The Baggies come to Anfield next weekend and it’s the return of Big Sam Allardyce also so I think we know what type of game that will be but after today’s performance I think we’ll be absolutely fine. A nice week’s rest for the squad now too which is important.
