Throughout the summer, there’s been a mass exodus of players from all over the world as Saudia Arabia’s football project kicks into gear. The Saudi Pro-League has taken three former Reds thus far with Fabinho, Roberto Firmino, and Jordan Henderson all heading to the Middle East where they have since been joined by Sadio Mane.

Recently Al-Ittihad, the same team Fabinho made the switch to, expressed interest in acquiring Liverpool’s very own superstar Mohamed Salah.

To discuss the situation further Dan spoke to Egyptian Journalist, Ismael Mahmoud, to get the lowdown on the Egyptian King’s future.

Ismael said:

“[Salah] is committed to Liverpool, he is committed to the fans. For €60 million, Liverpool will not let him go, the door is closed this summer. He wants to wait and see the Saudi project before he makes a decision [next year].

“He is 100% open to Saudi but he knows if he takes the step to [Saudi] he won’t be in Europe again. Maybe he will go next year or two or after his contract. But not this year. Mo wants to stay in Europe for at least one more year”

Over the past couple of days, there have been whispers surrounding Salah’s potential move to the Saudi project. It’s safe to say that one of Liverpool’s highest-rated performers over the past few years will in fact stay another year. Perhaps we will be having the same exact conversion come this time next year, only time will tell.

The sensational Egyptian has 265 goal involvements for The Reds and has looked sharp during pre-season, therefore that number will only grow over the next season. If and when the winger leaves, Liverpool will need to find someone very special to replace someone of his value.
