Despite the well-documented dramatic dip in form that has occurred at Liverpool this season, the Reds certainly remain in the frame to land one of Europe’s most prodigious and sought-after talents in the shape of Jude Bellingham.
Albeit there is strong competition from Real Madrid and Manchester City, the lure of Anfield, Jurgen Klopp and recent success remains strong and as such, there is a distinct possibility that the 19-year-old who idolised Steven Gerrard as an even younger fledgeling youth sensation, may just end up being a much needed, hungry addition to the Liverpool ranks.
On the latest episode of our Transfer Insight Show, we asked Sport Bild journalist Valentina Maceri for her thoughts on the Jude Bellingham situation as things stand…
Maceri said:
“I think we are not talking about less than €140/150million. Right now if you look at what other players cost that are going from the Bundesliga to the Premier League. No offence and all of the respect, players who haven’t had the performance of Jude Bellingham cost 60, 70, 80, 90 100million, I think for Jude Bellingham we are talking 140, 150million.
Dan also asked whether there is a chance the English midfielder will remain at Borussia Dortmund beyond the summer…
“Dortmund are doing everything they can that it’s possible to do to make him extend his contract until 2026 or longer. I’m not too confident that Bellingham is going to stay at Dortmund.”
Redmen Reacts
This is a conversation that is going to rumble on and on until the player himself decides upon his future.
Ultimately every single team in world football would welcome Bellingham with open arms, but no team in world football needs Bellingham more than LFC right now!
Let’s hope that the club can meet the financial demands and get this transformational signing over the line.
