By Lewis Thompson Twitter @LewisThomps0n It is the Merseyside Derby! Liverpool prepare to face Everton in what will be the 200th league meeting between both sides. Both Liverpool and Everton will enter this game with lots of confidence after their successful mid-week games which saw both teams score lots of goals and keep a clean sheet. Liverpool yet again must win this game to reoccupy top place from Manchester City. Everton haven’t won a game against Liverpool since their 2-0 win against Roy Hodgson’s side on the 17th of October 2010. Since then they have picked up nine draws and nine losses against The Reds. The last time the two sides met the kop was sent into madness after Divock Origi scored in the 96th minute to give Liverpool the 1-0 win. Since then Everton’s confidence has plummeted and their form has been quite poor. Everton have only won two of their last five games in the Premier League picking up wins to Huddersfield and Cardiff. The other three were all losses to Wolves, Manchester City and Watford. Everton currently sits 9th in the league table with 36 points. Marco Silva will have the ability to pick his starting line-up from almost a fully fit squad with left-back Leighton Baines looking to be the only one out injured for the game. Silva made comments about his injuries in his press conference saying, “Leighton Baines is the only injury”. He also spoke about Colombian defender Yerry Mina stating “Yerry Mina is okay and is in better condition than the last match”. Everton currently have no suspensions.

Now onto my predicted line-up for the game. I think Silva will stick with his 4-2-3-1 that worked very well against Cardiff with most of the same starting line-up apart from one player. I feel he will bring in experienced centre half Phil Jagielka into the starting line-up, a player who has played multiple Merseyside Derby’s and certainly knows Liverpool very well. I think Jagielka will pair up with Keane in the defence with Coleman and Digne at full back. Then in front of the defence I believe Gueye will start alongside Morgan Schneiderlin as two holding midfielders. For me, Everton’s biggest threat is their attack and I think the three just behind the striker will consist of Walcott out on the right, Richarlison out on the left and for me their biggest danger man, Sigurdsson through the middle. Then this leaves Calvert-Lewin to start up front. After only being able to beat Everton in six minutes of added time, after they had created a lot of chances and we had a goal-line clearance, I feel the game will be very tight. But, after putting five past Watford there is no reason why we can’t go out and score goals against Everton. I’m going to go with a 2-1 win to Liverpool with Mane scoring both of the goals. Tell me what you think the score will be, COME ON YOU F*CKING REDS!! By Lewis Thompson Twitter @LewisThomps0n
