Liverpool are in need of a major overhaul this summer after what has been a dismal 2022/23 campaign by comparison to recent seasons and in particular the near-quadruple heroics of last term.
With links to multiple midfielders seemingly appearing every day, Jurgen Klopp won’t be lacking in options when it comes to rebuilding what was once the engine room of the side.
Perhaps a new name to add to that plethora of possible targets is Eintracht Frankfurt ace Daichi Kamada, who according to Patrick Berger, the Chief Reporter of German news outlet SPORT1 is ‘also on the list’ for the Reds despite strong admiration from Borussia Dortmund.
Speaking exclusively to us here at The Redmen TV on our latest episode of Expert Insight, Berger said:
“I heard that he’s also one of the players on the list for (FC) Liverpool. They want to rebuild a new team right now.
They have some players in their mind, for example, one is Daichi Kamada. I think he is also on the list, this is quite interesting for you guys. I heard that he’s keen, as I’m told to move to Borussia Dortmund as a free agent.”

Given the huge need for reinforcement within Klopp’s squad, snapping up a player of Kamada’s ilk on a free transfer to allow money to be spent elsewhere would be a superb piece of business from the Anfield club.
Already capped 26 times by Japan, the talented attacking midfielder – who shares similar traits to former Liverpool favourite Philippe Coutinho – has been a revelation since arriving in Germany, scoring 37 times and providing 31 assists in 163 outings.
Whether or not Liverpool can swoop in and take the star from under the noses of Dortmund remains to be seen, as does whether they’d want to govern the need for a sweet relationship with the Bundesliga title chasers in their own pursuit of a certain Jude Bellingham…
