Liverpool are the “main target” for Jude Bellingham as he ponders his future, according to Patrick Berger, the Chief Reporter of German news outlet SPORT1.
The Reds have been linked with the Borussia Dortmund star for a long time, as have many other clubs too.
However, as Berger himself put it, the Reds are in ‘pole position’ to sign the midfielder and Liverpool is the ‘main target’ for the player himself.
Speaking exclusively to us here at The Redmen TV on our latest episode of Expert Insight, Berger said:
“I think this is some good news for you guys, what I’m told is that Liverpool are still in the pole position, the front runners [to sign Bellingham] and that they are the main target also for Jude.
There are some clubs like [Man] City and Real Madrid also in the race but he turned down proposals from Chelsea and PSG for the summer.”

Liverpool’s chase for Jude Bellingham has pretty much been public knowledge for a year, but Reds fans will take great heart from the fact that Bellingham is seemingly eyeing up a move to Anfield too.
Of course, there are still plenty of variables when it comes to Bellingham’s future, not only due to the other clubs in the race to sign him but also because Liverpool’s form this season has been so poor that them playing Champions League football next season is far from a certain prospect, if anything, it seems more likely that they won’t be in Europe’s premier competition next year.
Patrick, who is obviously well connected, said in the interview that he’s 60% sure that Bellingham will be joining Liverpool and 40% sure that he’ll stay at Dortmund, which should also give Reds fans some more confidence that the England star will be at Anfield next season.
