Liverpool have certainly moved fast this week after weeks of a marathon, not a sprint.
Seemingly on the slow pursuit of Manu Kone, Khephren Thuram and Romeo Lavia previously, it appears as though whilst also negotiating the loan departure of Fabio Carvalho to RB Leipzig, the Reds also became aware of a release clause for Dominik Szoboszlai that simply couldn’t be ignored.
Having failed in an attempt to negotiate with the Bundesliga club, it was confirmed Liverpool opted to activate the €70million clause required to land the 22-year-old Hungarian.
Dominik Szoboszlai’s Former Manager on Liverpool’s Latest Signing!
During our latest episode of Transfer Insight this week Dan spoke to Szoboszlai’s former manager Gerhard Struber to get the details on the attacking midfielder from a man who oversaw 15 matches during his development.
Gerhard said:
“We saw the potential in him at this time and also what I see and I never forget is that sometime the team would have an off day and he was always on the field.
“He would train on days off. I was in my office, I can see him outside and he would make some special corner kicks, free kicks with the balls on the field.
“I think next to a top talent what he is, I can see also a high ambition and in this direction, two things come together – very high work ethic plus a super talent.”

Redmen Reacts
That wonderful willingness to put in extra work, combined with his supreme natural ability makes this a truly exciting capture for the Anfield club.
Add to that the impressive track record Klopp has when it comes to extracting the best out of players then Szoboszlai could truly go onto the next level on Merseyside.
Alongside the already completed signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, Liverpool have gone a long way to their required rebuild this summer, although another addition who can also operate as a defensive-minded midfielder would complete the set.
