Having sealed the capture of Wataru Endo from VfB Stuttgart, attention has already turned to the prospect of who Liverpool could look to sign next as one of the most pivotal summers in recent memory goes on.
With exactly two weeks remaining in the transfer window, Jurgen Klopp spoke during his pre-match press conference of his delight regarding the business achieved but was under no allusions that there was more to be done.
One name emerging in recent weeks is that of Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure and the Mali international appears to be among the most favoured targets at Anfield.

Dan Clubbe spoke to Chief Football Reporter for the Daily Mail, Sami Mokbel (@SamiMokbel81_DM), to get the state of play from Palace, The Reds and Doucoure as the transfer deadline comes into view.
Sami said: “I started to make a few more enquiries down at the Palace end regarding Docuoure and I must say there was silence. There was a lot of secrecy.
“That usually amounts to one thing that they are preparing for something to happen. Time will tell of course. We all know that he’s on Liverpool’s radar, that’s not really a secret. It’s just whether Liverpool, once they have a conversation with Palace in terms of the valuations that they’re not a million miles apart.
“It might take Liverpool to meet Palace’s valuation of £70-80m. He’s young, he’s got a number of years left in him. He’s got every attribute to become a Premier League midfielder. He’s fantastic and I think if Liverpool were to successfully complete this signing they’d be getting a really, really good footballer.”

Redmen Reacts
Albeit a rather lofty asking price for a player with only one season of Premier League experience, at 23 and given the price tags of numerous other defensive midfielders this summer, it’s perhaps no surprise the South Londoners would be expecting a significant profit on their £18million outlay from last summer.
Liverpool have now afforded themselves a little breathing room with the signing of Endo, however, with Palace likely to want a replacement for Doucoure before the September 1st deadline passes, it’s important for all parties that a resolution can be found swiftly if at all possible.
As such, with the Selhurst Park outfit seemingly steadfast in its valuation, it’s already put up or move on time for The Reds.
