Liverpool new boy Ryan Gravenberch has made a bright start to life as a Red with numerous impressive displays across his cameos in Europe and domestically.
Following his ill-fated move to Bayern Munich, the 21-year-old midfielder made the switch to Anfield on deadline day and soon after declined the opportunity to add to his 11-caps for the Dutch Under 21 side – bringing criticism from Michael Reiziger and Ronald Koeman.
Gravenberch made his first Premier League start in the 2-0 Merseyside derby victory on Saturday – earning an impressive 7.20 Sofascore rating – and afterwards, we spoke exclusively to compatriot and former Liverpool favourite Dirk Kuyt at Hotel Anfield.

Speaking about the fallout from the Dutchman’s decision and his ability, Kuyt said: “I think he is one of the most talented players in Holland. If you are transferred from Holland to Bayern Munchen at such a young age, that says everything about his potential.
“I think things didn’t work out the way he wanted at Bayern Munchen but you see when you give a player like Gravenberch some confidence, I think that’s what Jurgen Klopp’s doing at the moment, you can already see what he’s capable of.
“I thought he had a really good performance in the derby and of course, he’s a top player and he will be a player for the Dutch national team.
AN EVENING WITH LUCAS LEIVA @ HOTEL ANFIELD
“Obviously I’m from Holland so I’m following the news as well, I think the federation was not really happy that he stayed in Liverpool but as I know how difficult it is to move from one club to another I think he made the right decision to do so.
“It’s not that every player should do it every time but this was the right moment to settle in and make things work. It’s not only about training at Liverpool’s training ground but also about settling into the city or whatever place he’s going to live. He showed his potential and when he shows his potential at Liverpool in the future he will show it with the Dutch national team.”
