As we all know, Jurgen Klopp and The Reds are fully into the first season of their ‘rebuild’. With key players from previous years like Fabinho, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, James Milner and Jordan Henderson having left, Liverpool have had to go out and use their resources to the best of their ability.
As such, the Anfield club have brought in Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch, all midfielders who have fantastic qualities to help push Klopp’s side back to where it has been in recent seasons.
Dan sat down with former Liverpool midfielder, Lucas Leiva to talk about the rebuild thus far. Leiva spent 10 years at the club, appearing for 247 matches, he is a true Red.

Lucas said: “It’s a new team you know, new players coming in, young players that will be part of the present but for sure for the future. I think we’ve had a good start. The last few results haven’t been the best but with a new and young team with so many new players.
“It’s important for them to react straight away and hopefully they’ll have a good reaction [against Brentford]. But listen, Liverpool are up there battling the top four and challenging for the top and they need to maintain that and hopefully build during the season.
“Last year we had so many injuries, hopefully, these players will stay free from injuries and that will be a massive for them as well. I was going to say wow [Szoboszlai]’s had a very good impact and he’s a very good player.
“Mac Allister as well, he’s a World Cup champion. Gravenberch arrived a little bit late but for sure he will only get better, he will improve, and he will adapt to the system as well as the way Jurgen wants to play.
“Hopefully these guys will give a new energy that people spoke a lot about last year. We know how Jurgen likes to play, a very intense and pressing team so you must do that to be successful.
“Endo just arrived, Mac Allister as well, if the club feel that it’s probably a position they need, they will go to the market and see what is available. Endo, I think is a very good player, still needs a bit more time to find his feet but hopefully, these two guys will do the job.

Redmen Reacts
Overall, Jurgen and his Reds have done pretty decent damage in terms of replacing the players who left and strengthening for the upcoming season. With players such as Domonik Szoboszlai immediately showing his prowess, it’s only a matter of time before we see his truest potential. Players like Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister have also shown how good they can be in recent matches, however, they may need some time to gel with the team and become very important players to the squad. And Gravenberch who is an outstanding youngster has begun to prove that selling him has been a mistake and in incredible help for Liverpool. Former Red Lucas Leiva has said various things about this upcoming season and is incredibly optimistic about how this season will turn out. If the players can stray away from injuries, Jurgen and his tricky Reds will be very exciting this season.
