Following weeks of rumours regarding who would be the second piece of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield puzzle, Hungarian Dominik Szoboszlai is the latest to walk through the doors of the AXA Training Centre.
To find out more about what the 22-year-old is like, Dan Clubble spoke to FC Liefering’s head coach Fabio Ingolistch in a recent Transfer Insight show.
Ingolistch described Szoboszlai as being ‘obsessed with football’ before going on to talk about a time Dominik returned to the training field despite having already completed his training for the day.
David Lynch says Romeo Lavia is Liverpool’s ‘ideal’ midfield signing!
Fabio said:
“He’s obsessed with football.
“I was out with a few offensive players having shootouts, things like that, and he [Szoboszlai] ran out and was like ‘coach, coach please can I join you!’ despite having already trained for 2 hours with the first team. I told him ‘Dommy, it’s a little bit dangerous, if you get injured then I have a big problem!’ 5 minutes later he came across with about 20 balls and then he was on the pitch with us again.
“That’s what Dommy is like, and I think that’s why he is very good at set pieces, free-kicks and has a good shooting technique. He is doing it for himself and just wants to improve day by day”.
Redmen Reacts
Coupling that football ‘obsession’ with his work ethic and talent is certainly a mouthwatering proposition for Liverpool fans and indeed Jurgen Klopp himself.
Already a prodigious talent who has gained a reputation around Europe, Szoboszlai looks ready to go onto the next level at Anfield and the Reds could be set to benefit hugely from the work Fabio explains here.
Fingers crossed the AXA allows after-hours training…
