Article by Anish Dogra @Anish_DograIt has been a sensational start to the new football season from the Reds. For the first time in their Premier League history they had started the campaign with five consecutive wins. Almost everything has been perfect so far, Alisson has added a great deal of quality between the sticks, Van Dijk has been colossal, Robertson and Alexander-Arnold have picked up from where they left off and Joe Gomez has been a revelation at centre back next to the imperious Van Dijk.A midfield which many of us would not have predicted to be the first choice midfield three this season have been outstanding. Wijnaldum has adopted a new role as the number “6” brilliantly. His energy as a holding midfielder has been crucial and if you couple that with his excellent ability of retaining the ball and sticking his foot in when needed has equalled a recipe of success for the Dutch midfielder. What can we say about James “Hamez” “Milly” Milner though!? The man gets older day by day yet he still preforms like a 25 year old in the prime of their career. Milner has been irreplaceable so far this season, his performances have been nothing short of sensational whether it is setting up goals, slotting away penalties or just putting in crunching tackles to win the ball back. He has been imperious and long may this run of form continue.Lastly, who could forget about our new number 8! Naby Keita has slotted into the midfield three perfectly so far. He has a huge weight of responsibility in wearing the iconic number 8 shirt but with his wonderful dribbling and passing ability and the aptitude to open up the opposing defence, it has been a recipe for success so far from the Guinean central midfielder.Based on the back end of the last season I think it is safe to say that we all thought our fearsome front three would be firing on all cylinders from the outset. However this has not been the case, they have most certainly not been meagre in front of goal with Salah on three league goals so far, Firmino with two and Sadio Mane on four but they have missed several good chances, Mo Salah perhaps missing the most.Having said that, the way that our front three are playing in this moment in time reminds me exactly of how exactly things were exactly a year ago, we were creating chances for fun but not finishing them off. As all great Premier League strikers have said on television, as long as you get into scoring positions, your luck will eventually change. Form is temporary class is permanent, that is most definitely the case right now.Long may this excellent start to the season continue, the midfield has gelled fantastically well so far, the attack is still scoring without playing at their highest level and the defence has been flawless having played 7 league games so far in this long Premier League campaign. To conclude, Liverpool have amassed 19 points from a possible 21 so far this season and if we have this many positive results without our attack firing on all cylinders, imagine what can be possible when Mane, Salah and Firmino do eventually start scoring! Exciting times for us Reds and we finally hope that some much wanted silverware makes its way back to Anfield.Article by Anish Dogra @Anish_Dogra 16+ PODCASTS P/MONTH
