So much has been written, said and speculated upon when it comes to the future of Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham’s future beyond the end of the season, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid seemingly all desperate to make the English teenager theirs.
As the favourites to land the former Birmingham City midfielder seemingly switches from day to day, updates are constant and recently Dan spoke to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) for Redmen TV to get the latest on Bellingham…
“I hear from Liverpool that they are very very optimistic to get him, they had talks with him, with his management. I heard that Julian Ward is one of the guys pushing for him, by the way, that’s his task at the moment. I have the confirmation and the exclusive that there were no talks between Klopp and Bellingham so far.
Dan also asked Plettenberg just how the Reds will make Bellingham the ‘new Steven Gerrard’ as reported by the Sky Sports man…
“I know and that’s my information, Jude Bellingham is the top, top, top, top target for Liverpool in the summer. I have tweeted it a month ago, Jurgen Klopp is intensively pushing for that Jude Bellingham player. I have been told that he is one of the key figures in the future, they want to build the midfield around Jude Bellingham. It’s not easy to get him.”
Following an impressive run of displays for England at the World Cup, if people were unsure, the whole of football is now aware of the prodigious talent Bellingham holds!
At present there are problems aplenty in the Liverpool midfield department and whilst signing a 19-year-old with zero Premier League appearances to solve the issues would usually appear a risk, in this very special instance there is every possibility that Bellingham could be the answer to the Reds’ woes.
Very rarely does it seem blindingly obvious that the Anfield club simply must beat their competitors to a signing, however, this is one of those instances.
Miss out on Bellingham and it could be a long road back for Klopp’s side.
