Amongst all of the bad moments, Salah has been at the centre of the good. Against West Ham, it was his spectacular brace that gave us a glimpse of Liverpool’s identity once more. Against Leeds United, it was Salah’s hattrick that decided a 4-3 thriller. As Liverpool defeated Spurs in December, it was the Egyptian with the opener. Even as Liverpool have faltered, the goalscoring machine that is Mohamed Salah has remained- as proven in the defeat to Leicester City. The afternoon will be struck down as one to forget, but, again, the one moment to cherish came from Salah, who slotted home the opener with the class of a clinical goalscorer. As the full-time whistle sounded, Liverpool’s top-four hopes were thrown into doubt, but Salah’s class could not be questioned. It is the mark of a true player when they are able to produce those moments of magic even as the wildfire of a crisis spreads around them. And, as proven more than ever this season, Mohamed Salah belongs to be spoken about in the same bracket as some of the Premier League’s best. By Tom Cunningham – @TomCunningham75
