Here are the player ratings as Liverpool laboured to twelve league points at the King Power Stadium:Alisson – 5Made a great stop to deny Gray after 20 minutes, at fault for Leicester’s goal but the same people who cheered his chip last week can’t be jumping on his back now. Alisson’s style of play will gain us more points than it will cost us but even the £60 million man is human; recovered well despite jeers from the Leicester fans and that’s the most important thing.Trent Alexander-Arnold (Subbed off 88′) – 6Didn’t really offer much as Liverpool struggled to get out of their own half for most of the game, solid defensively and dealt with the double threat of Albrighton and Chilwell. Had his Steven Gerrard moment as the ball fell to him outside the box with five minutes left but he will have certainly hit better shots than that before.Joe Gomez – 10I’ll be honest before the season I wasn’t too sure if Gomez was ready to play at centre half and i’m happy to admit how wrong I was. He faced a new challenge today in Demarai Gray and once again dealt with him expertly, was there to save Van Dijk’s blushes at times and made an ultimately game winning block to prevent James Maddison from scoring.Virgil Van Dijk – 6Has certainly had better performances in the a Liverpool shirt but will also have worse, dealt with most threats but struggled a few times against James Maddison and was bailed out by his partner with one chance. Played a loose ball to Alisson which led to the goal but can’t be pinned as his fault and won some important headers late on in the game.Andy Robertson – 8Absolutely outstanding drive and commitment to set up Sadio Mane for the first goal of the game, rock solid at the back too as Leicester held most of the ball. Jurgen Klopp pulled off an outstanding deal by bringing the Scotsman in from Hull and with the managers coaching he’s already one of the best left backs in the league.Jordan Henderson (subbed off 70′) – 6The captains first start in the league was slightly underwhelming, when Liverpool controlled the ball he was outstanding but the problem was that Liverpool didn’t have much control of the ball. Unable to deal with the threat of James Maddison and because of that put a lot of pressure on his defence.Gini Wijnaldum – 5Wijnaldum’s first game further forward in the midfield was heavily disappointing, normally his usual position last season he now looks more at home in the six. None of his passes were sticking and the game seemed to pass him by a lot of the time, a distant showing from his terrific performance against Torino in pre-season.James Milner – 7You know what you get with James Milner, such a consistent player for Liverpool he battled for the full 90 minutes and got forward to support the front three when needed. Every season he gets written off and every season he comes back bigger and better than ever.Mohamed Salah (subbed off 70′) – 6Seemed slightly confused when subbed off but fully the right decision by Jurgen Klopp, missed a really good chance early on and forced a good save out of Schmeichel; with Liverpool scoring from the resulting set of corners. In the second half he found himself with a lot of space at times but was unable to make the killer pass or decision to get Liverpool another goal.Roberto Firmino – 8Got his first goal of the season and is looking more and more match fit as the games go by, with Leicester having a lot of the ball he tried to put himself about and now that he’s off the mark there will be no looking back for the Brazillian.Sadio Mane – 9Mane’s electric start to the season continued as he grabbed his fourth goal of the season in just as many games, with Salah struggling and Bobby still getting fully fit Mane was the most impressive out of the front three and will be hoping to kick on even further after the international break.Substitutes:Naby Keita – 6Only a 20 minute run out this week but Keita provided the midfield with more legs and battle when he came on, with Leicester pushing for an equaliser Keita had to do more defensive work this week than he has done before but he dealt with it expertly as the reds held on for all three points.Xherdan Shaqiri – 6Got on the ball as much as possible but with the way the game went was unable to create many chances for Liverpool, most notable quality was his top notch shithousery in the corner in injury time.Joel Matip – 6Wait…Matip was subbed on? Well he didn’t concede so you can have a 6 Joel.So there are my player ratings as Liverpool made it four wins out of four.
