As the international break ended, The Reds got their preparations underway for the busiest and most competitive month of the season.
Games against Watford, Benfica, Man City, Man United, Everton and Newcastle were packed in the schedule for April. A month that will play a big factor in deciding how many trophies Klopp and Liverpool walk away with this season.

March 28th
LFC Women eyed up the chance for automatic promotion to The FA Women’s Super League. After a 3-0 win over Durham, the Reds just needed one point with three games to go to secure The FA Women’s Championship.
March 29th
Sadio Mane and Senegal qualified for the 2022 World Cup after beating Egypt in a penalty shootout. Mo Salah missed a penalty for Egypt after having numerous lasers pointed in his direction before he took the penalty.
Diogo Jota also helped to secure World Cup qualification for his Portugal side. A 3-1 win over Turkey, followed by a 2-0 win over North Macedonia meant that Portugal would be playing in the World Cup in November.
March 30th
Luis Diaz earned a spot in the EA Sports FIFA Team of The Week after his excellent international performances with Columbia.
Alisson and Fabinho were part of a Brazil team that set a new World Cup qualifying record in the early hours of Wednesday. Brazil amassed 45 points from their 17 qualifying games, the highest number any team has managed to secure in the South American group’s history.
March 31st
Liverpool confirmed their pre-season for the 2022/23 season will kick off in Thailand in July as they are set to face Man United at the Rajamangala Stadium.
The Reds regrouped after the international break, to get their preparations underway for a tough game against Watford at Anfield.
Mo Salah’s incredible mural on Anfield Road was completed by artist John Culshaw. Behind the scenes footage of it being made will be available on The Redmen TV YouTube channel very soon!
April 1st
It was April Fool’s Day for everyone across the world, however facing Watford, Benfica (home and away) and Man City (twice in two different competitions) in the space of 14 days is far from a joke, as Liverpool got their last-minute preparations finalised before facing former Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson and his Watford side at Anfield.
Luis Diaz won Liverpool’s Goal of the Month for March. His brave header against Brighton beat Firmino’s goal at the Emirates to the award.
April 2nd
It was matchday as Liverpool looked set to go top of the Premier League table, a win was all that was required to take the Reds above Manchester City with them facing Burnley later on in the day.
Joe Gomez came into right-back for the injured Trent, whilst Jones started in midfield alongside Thiago and Henderson. Salah, Jota and Firmino were the front three as Liverpool continued their chase for the Premier League title.
A header from Diogo Jota and a converted penalty from Fabinho did the job to secure Liverpool all three points, in what turned out to be a very tough match for the Reds. Watford played well but just couldn’t convert any of their chances which allowed Liverpool to take the advantage. Stand out performances from Alisson, Henderson, Thiago and Jota meant Liverpool now sat top of the Premier League table with an extra game played.
A 2-0 win for Man City over Burnley put them right back on top, as the one-point gap continues with Liverpool in second.
The win over Watford handed Klopp his 160th win in his 250TH Premier League game in charge of Liverpool.
Thiago received the Carlsberg Player of the Match.
April 3rd
Liverpool FC Women were crowned champions of The FA Women’s Championship after a 4-2 away win over Bristol City WFC.
A good week for the Reds as we continued our winning form. Next, it’s an away trip to Benfica for the first leg of our Champions League quarter-final, then an away trip to the Etihad looms on Sunday in a game that could decide where the Premier League title ends up this season.
