Newcastle score a 95th minute equaliser to draw 1-1 with Liverpool at Anfield.

Our Own Worst Enemy

I’m not sure how many chances Liverpool wanted to creat for themselves in today’s game but it was quite a few and yet we only managed to score the one goal. Clinicalness in front of goal has been lacking a lot this season and half the players look a shadow of what they were in previous seasons and we’ve only got ourselves to blame.

A brilliant start to the match with Mo Salah putting us ahead on the 3rd minute with a sublime touch and finish that no keeper would be able to stop. It was quite an open game with both teams managing to find a lot of space for themselves to run into and create opportunities, there was no doubt Liverpool had the better of those chances created and yet we couldn’t take them.

Thiago deserves a mention after his performance today, probably one of his best in a Liverpool shirt so far. His passing was phenomenal and he seemed to have a lot more time and space on the ball which suits him massively. I was confused as to why Jurgen Klopp took him off but considering he was the best player on the pitch.

Newcastle put on a decent display today and we did well to hold them off for 90 odd minutes but went on to conceded not one but two late goals. We got away with the first one after Callum Wilson’s goal was harshly ruled out, if that was against any of our players I would be livid, but to then concede again is just so so poor and we’ve only got ourselves to blame.

A win today would have put us in a great position for the top four especially with Chelsea facing West Ham later today but the race is wide open for any team to snatch those places and I’m sorry to say but I wouldn’t be putting my money on Liverpool.

Mo Salah

Another record broken for Salah today as he becomes the first Liverpool FC player to score 20 plus goals in three Premier League seasons! It’s a shame the result takes the shine off this stat but I think we can all collectively agree that he is one of the best to wear an LFC Shirt.

Man United Up Next

Man United away up next and this game has just gotten even bigger considering the position these two teams are in at the minute.
