Liverpool really need to stop losing games a habit. I’m not even angry any more. I feel numb to it. We’ve had the excuses, the reasons, the circumstances presented to us but that was just abysmal. No intensity, no fight, no chance of winning. It’s the hope that kills you. Happy to see Fabs, Ali and Mané back in the side but you can’t legislate for Alisson messing up 3 times or the lack of intensity. City were miles better and will win the league in my opinion. Top 4 has to be the objective now. There’s a few mitigating circumstances and we aren’t the same side but I adjusted my expectations after Brighton. Never like losing and it’s still pretty raw now – but we have to start putting a string of win together soon before the injury crisis becomes a full on crisis. Remember, these ratings are just opinions. They in no way have any effect on your life. Don’t get angry. Just let me know yours in the comments below. Alisson – 3 Doesn’t palm the first one away far enough, at fault for the second and third. May take some criticism for the 4th but Foden absolutely twats that. One thing about Alisson is his mentality, I was shocked he made so many mistakes but I back him to bounce back. Trent – 5 Credit to him for keeping his social distance from Sterling but when he’s looking to get into the box maybe just fuck them rules off for a bit. And when he does it once, don’t let him do it again. Hendo – 5 I mean, we conceded four goals. The defence was fairly resolute in the first half but all that hard work was undone in the second half. I can’t throw anything specific on Hendo. But once again, he’s not a CB. Fabinho – 5 Bit wild and sloppy to give away a penalty, which we got away with…for a little bit. Couldn’t cope with the City attack. We very much won the midfield battle in the first half and were pretty much non existent in the second. Foden ran the show. Robbo – 5 Unable to play his game once again today. Defensively, as mentioned, we were ok for large parts of the first half but City seemed to target our full backs with inverted wingers. Sterling cutting inside, Foden the same and we couldn’t cope. Gini – 5 Moments of brilliance, moments of absence. In danger of repeating myself here but that shift from City in the second half in the middle of the park just fucked us. Not entirely on Gini but we as a collective didn’t react and failed to cope.REDMEN TV MERCH- BUY HERE
Thiago – 5 Two minutes in. One yellow card. Not into all the “he slows us down” shite, that isn’t the case at all. I think he is still trying to adjust to players around him, where he is supposed to be and today, up against a very good Man City side. Jones – 7 Once again the shining light for me. He showed it in brief cameos in recent weeks and looked to be the only player with a bright spark, looked to hurt Man City and looked to get forward. Perplexed as to why he was taken off. Bobby – 5 Not good enough again. Long supporters of my player ratings will know how much I love Bobby but he’s hit a real slump which I cannot continue to defend. Ok, I understand he might not be able to play his usual game, but try something a little different. Salah – 5 I mean, he won the penalty and scored it so points for that. Other than that, not much to report. Mané – 5 Couldn’t get going. Never got going. City wouldn’t allow it. Had a great chance to score in the first half but his header flew over the bar.
Milner – 5 Played 20. Can’t think of anything of note he did. Just witnessed us falling apart. Shaqiri – 5 See above. Tsimikas – 5 Late, late sub Ross – @rossic89
