Ste Hoare @SteHoare

The Reds are still unbeaten after a 2-2 draw against Man City at Anfield. In hindsight, a draw was probably a fair result but it’s dead annoying for Liverpool to go ahead twice and still not win.

Here’s how we rated the players after the draw. Up the Reds.

Alisson – 8

Kept it at 0-0 in the first half with a very good save and then a slidey on Foden.

Milner -3

Was given a torrid time by Foden half and was probably drawn in a bit too much for the first City equaliser. Should have been sent off but the ref bottled it so he wasn’t and that made Pep pull his hair ou… never mind.

Matip – 7

One of the few players who looked good in the first half. Was unlucky to deflect De Bruyne’s strike past Alisson.

Van Dijk – 6

Looked much more like himself in the second half after a few iffy moments in the first.

Robertson – 6

A rather quiet game for Robbo really. We hardly attacked down his side, and either did City.

Fabinho – 6

Had an unbelievable chance to win it for The Reds but couldn’t quite sort his feet out in time which gave Rodri the chance to make the block. City got more joy out of attacking him than most teams do.

Henderson – 4

Not great to be honest. Lost too many of his battles.

Jones – 5

Hardly remember him doing anything to be honest. That’s not necessarily a bad thing like, but not amazingly great either.

Salah – 10

If there’s a better player in the world right now than this fella then I’ve not seen him. That was one of the all time great Anfield goals. Such a shame it wasn’t the winner. What a player – pay him and pay him now!

Mane – 7

Pretty quiet but took his goal exceptionally well. Hopefully a much needed confidence booster for him

Jota – 5

Worked hard but not much to show for it bad one shot straight at Ederson.

Bobby – 5

Came in and they scored about five seconds later which wasn’t ideal like. Didn’t really get a chance to do much attacking.

Gomez – 6

Brought on after the ref bottled sending Milner off and did make things a bit more solid.
