I hate the international break and I hate 12:30 kick offs. I also despise VAR.It took us a while to find our groove but once we got going the result was inevitable for me. My dad always tells me of old Liverpool sides in this 70’s and 80’s and the worse thing you could do was score against them. This was the case today. We are blessed with players such as Fabinho, Mané and Bobby. I could go on but they get the worthy mentions today. To be honest I was concerned with the tempo of the game and the penetration, or lack of from Liverpool initially.  It can be frustrating to watch but patience is always the key when playing a flat back eleven. You can’t rush these things, we have been here before and trying to rush or force things doesn’t necessarily work. Ok moments of magic and pure quality were needed but its all part of the process.Top of the league still.Adrian – 7Couldn’t do much for the goal, think he’d have gone in with it if he got near it. Not much else to write about. Passing out from the back much better, gives me confidence in him going forward, particularly when under pressure.Trent – 7Being hyper critical you could say he should have done better for their goal but if we are being honest Willems caught us all off guard there. A right thunder-bastard. Other than that he produced some lovely crosses and switches as usual.Matip – 8Honestly want him to go on one of his made runs and just twat it into the net you know. Like van Dijk, he has simplified his game which reduces risks, opens up opportunities and eases the pressure on my boxers.Virgil – 8Makes everything look so simple and easy. An eight seems high but because he positions himself so well he is always in the correct place to deal with any situation.Robbo – 8Took him about 15 minutes to remember he wasn’t playing for Scotland still. Sloppy on the ball and struggled to link up with anyone. Soon picked up his game though and got himself an assist for Mané’s first.Fabinho – 9Having this fella from the start of the season could be the difference come the end of the season you know. He reads the game better than I can read a book. Never shy in the challenge and his passing is hugely underrated.

Gini – 7One of his quieter games today too, had to be weary of the counter and he is the right man for the job Relentless running and pressing. Not the most glamorous role as always but he gets the job done.Chamberlain – 7Great to see him get some game time going into a busy period. Huge minutes under his belt, it will be small steps for him but starting today was vital to his progress.Lord Divock – 6Took him a while to get going, some poor touches and poor passing for me, which in turn gave the ball away for the Newcastle goal when a simple pass was on. He grew into the game a little before picking up a knock.Salah – 8Quieter by his usual standards but thats to be expected when Newcastle had three people on him. Lived up to his T-shirt and never gave up. Took his goal really well and secured three points for the top of the table reds.Mane – 10Oh my word. When the chips are down this man lifts us again and again. He doesn’t score simple goals either, pretty much top bin or nothing. Gave him a 9 initially but bumped up to a 10 because of the importance, quality and timing of the goals.
SubsBobby – 10I’ve said it once and I will say it again. Football without Bobby is nothing. Instantly made an impact teaming up with Matip to win the ball back before setting up Sadio for his second. Unbelievable. He had the audacity to do some mad shit to set Mo up to make it 3-1. I have run out of words for him. Milner – 6Came on with fifteen to go. Bit of composure and game management needed.Shaqiri – N/AOnly came on with a few minutes to go.Let me know your thoughts on the game below!Ross – @rossic89
