Remember these are just opinions. Don’t worry about it. Make your own minds up. My thoughts don’t mean anything.
Alisson – 7
Could he do better for the goals? Maybe. His distribution and control of the box was still excellent however and there’s no calmer goalie out there when the pressure levels intensify.
Trent – 7
A bit of a weaker performance all around today compared to his usual quality. His passing and crossing wasn’t quite hitting the mark like it usually does but he’s still massively influential for the opener.
Matip – 7
Chaos is Matip. Matip is chaos. Aerially dominant again and has his usual cameo in the Harvey Elliott role. His offensive headers could definitely improve and the communication for the goals conceded wasn’t ideal.
Gomez – 6.5
Considering he hasn’t played for about 10 months, I’d say that this was a successful return to the xi. We saw his passing range in full flow today and he looked sharp and alert whenever he was tasked with defending. His reading of the game will develop as he gets more minutes in his legs.
Robertson – 7
A really good effort in trying to stop Milan’s second goal and unlucky that it didn’t go better for him. Put in another high quality shift again up and down that left flank and never gave Milan a sniff on his side.
Fabinho – 8
He’s just an incredible man. He’s always in the right place, he’s so difficult to beat and his passing range is spectacular. What a start to the season from this beautiful Brazilian
Henderson – 9
WHAT A HIT SON, WHAT A HIT! The captain steps up as he usually does to win us a massive 3 points in this group with an absolute pearler. Sound familiar? Fantastic performance in the other aspects of his game as well.
Keita – 7
Quieter game from Keita tonight. His pressing is always good and he’s brilliant at maintaining possession for us to build pressure. He did look a little lost to me in the midfield at times though.

Salah – 9
He’s just a joke. I just don’t know what more I can say about the Egyptian King. The only analysis I can say is that this is the best version of Salah that I’ve ever seen.
Jota – 7
Worked hard defensively and was a real nuisance in the attacking third, he does look a little bit slow compared to how he started the season.
Origi – 8
What a fantastic performance from Big Div. His decision making was on point, he was pressing with intent and was winning the ball high up the pitch regularly and his pass for the equaliser was gorgeous. Maybe our squad depth is actually ok? Maybe?
Mane – 6
A brilliant comment that I saw on the legends discord that sums up his performance: He sometimes plays like he’s drunk. He’s just not quite at the level I believe that he can get to. Hopefully he can step up his game with the competition from Jota, Firmino and now maybe Origi.
Jones – 6.5
Looked bright off the bench and got into some wonderful positions in the Milan penalty area. I’m excited to see how he develops this season.
Thiago – 6.5
Fine sub appearance from our Spanish technician. Did very Thiago things with composed passing and tidy dribbling. His highlight was the hug he got from Jurgen after the winner went in.
Milner – N/A
A masterclass in the dark arts by the vice captain. Just the perfect guy to bring on when you’re holding onto a lead.
Oxlade-Chamberlain – N/A
Tracked back well when we were defending our lead.
