Liverpool come from 2-1 down to beat West Ham 3-2 at home!

Well…That Was Nervy.

Not going to lie, I was worried for a minute.

We survived the night though and Liverpool have now equalled the English league record of eighteen successive match wins which was set by Man City in 2017. All day I’ve been saying that I was hoping for a nice 4-0 win, get a few goals and get our mojo back ahead of a big few weeks and when Gini Wijnaldum scored on the 9th minute I was fully expecting that type of game but it was the complete opposite.

Fair play to West Ham who showed great character throughout the game and they capitalised on our defensive errors during the corners. Alisson could have done a bit better but I think its coming at him so fast and so low that he can’t quite get to it and then their second goal in the 54th minute was a mad moment, not used to us going behind at home like that.

The team didn’t give up though and with some luck we where able to get the three points thanks to Mo Salah getting the equaliser and Sadio Mane getting the winner.

We Missed Henderson

I think we missed Jordan Henderson massively in this game tonight. He would have took this match by the scruff of the neck and certainly would not have let half outhouse West Ham players play like they did.

I was happy with Baby Keita coming in to midfield with Fabinho and Wijnaldum as they usually do alright together but tonight Naby just couldn’t get in to it. He was quite slow when offloading the ball and he didn’t really show any urgency to drive forward.

I was happy when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came on as he offers us that drive from midfield and he is not afraid to test the keeper from range either and you could see his energy make this difference for our froward line.

Watford Up Next

Watford away up next for Liverpool in the 5:30pm kick off on Saturday. Four more wins will clinch the title for Liverpool so fingers crossed the Reds get one more at the weekend.
