With the Premier League done and dusted, attention has already turned to the upcoming 2025-26 campaign. Unsurprisingly, Liverpool are the bookies’ favourites, having stormed the league last season under new manager Arne Slot. He won’t admit it, but even Slot himself was probably surprised at how well he hit the ground running — and Kopites will be hoping for more of the same come August.

Liverpool 11/5 Favourites for Next Season — But Could Arsenal and Man City Bounce Back?

Bet365, Coral, and Ladbrokes all have Liverpool as the favourites to win the 2025-26 Premier League. Liverpool’s odds currently sit at 11/5 with these bookies, although they’re likely to change over the summer once clubs start playing their pre-season games and signing new players. But even then, Liverpool will still remain favourites — and a lot of punters have already stuck money on Slot to retain the league title.

When it comes to betting on Liverpool to win the league again, you can use the BettingTools free odds calculator. This way, it’s possible to calculate what profit you’d make. For example, betting £10 on Liverpool at 11/5 right now would return £32, meaning a nice little profit of £22.

Just behind Liverpool are Arsenal (5/2) and Manchester City (13/5). What’s fascinating about these two clubs, though, is that nobody knows what’s happening with them. Mikel Arteta has now gone 5 full seasons without winning a trophy — despite featuring in back-to-back title races — while Manchester City have completely imploded under legendary manager Pep Guardiola. City did look to salvage their season towards the end, but they couldn’t even get over the line in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace, leading many to believe that it really is the end of an era for Pep’s men. If indeed it is, there’s yet another opening for Arne Slot to swoop in and grab the Premier League trophy again next season.

Newcastle (18/1), Chelsea (22/1), and Aston Villa (45/1) are also in the mix. It’s fair to say none of them are legit title-contenders and will likely be competing for Champions League spots instead, so Slot won’t have too much to worry about here. Newcastle might be a dark horse — especially following Eddie Howe’s League Cup win last season — but Liverpool are very much still ahead of the pack.

The Next Stage of Arne Slot’s Liverpool Project

It’s a classic football cliché: a team wins the league, fails to strengthen in the summer, and then falls off a cliff the next season. One thing for sure is that Slot won’t be letting this happen. From what we’ve seen so far, he gets it.

With one Premier League trophy already under his belt, it’s a case of how far Slot wants to go. He’s already brought in 23-year-old youngster Jeremie Frimpong — one of the most exciting prospects in European football — to get the ball rolling. Following Trent’s exit, he could have been complacent, but there’s no messing around.

It also looks like Liverpool are close to signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, too, despite having a club-record £109m bid recently rejected. If Wirtz does put pen-to-paper with the Reds, Slot will have a scary amount of pace and flair to work with next season — and that’s not including any other potential signings that come through the Anfield door.

Mohamed Salah’s trophy-laden spell with the club will also be continuing for at least another year. This is great news for everyone, with Salah fresh off an excellent campaign where he bagged 29 goals and 18 assists. The 32-year-old is still hungry for more, so Slot will be looking to squeeze every last goal out of him next season now the Anfield legend has rejected a £500m move to Saudi.

Sure, Trent Alexander-Arnold might be gone now — having finally got his dream move to Real Madrid — but Liverpool fans won’t be losing too much sleep over this. He’ll be missed from a playing perspective, but Slot’s men should fare just fine without him. After all, Jeremie Frimpong is a more than capable replacement and is symbolic of what the Slot era is going to look like: youth, pace and freshness.

Seemingly, Slot is going all-out for next season. In the Premier League, you can’t rest on your laurels or it comes back to bite you fast, so Kopites can relax knowing they’re in good hands. Slot has a blueprint of where he wants to go with the club – currently looking to take Liverpool’s summer spending to £270m — so it will be exciting to see what the squad looks like when August arrives.

Conclusion

Has the Slot machine got another Premier League trophy in store?

Potentially, yes.

If Liverpool can get the Florian Wirtz deal over the line and secure a couple of other little deals, too, Slot will have the perfect line-up to once again storm the Premier League next season.

Arsenal and Manchester City don’t look convincing, whereas the Premier League’s other big-hitters — such as Chelsea and Newcastle — are still far away from being title challengers.

All signs are pointing to Liverpool, so let’s see what Slot can do with momentum on his side.
