14:40 – Why Trent wanted to come back early
No it wasn’t because he wasn’t enjoying his holidays. The defender cut short his holiday after featuring for England in the 2018 World Cup this summer in order to return back to training so he could be in contention for the start of the season. Speaking to Liverpool FC he said “I spoke to the manager and he understood that I’m young and maybe didn’t need as much rest as the other lads because I was still fresh. He allowed me to come back early”.
When asked about the game over the weekend he said “It’s maybe a bit too soon to play over the weekend. Hopefully I’ll get a few minutes before the season starts and try to get myself back into contention as soon as possible”.

12:00 – Pedro Chirivella turns down move
Another player who seemed likely to leave Liverpool this season is Pedro Chrivella but he has today turned down a move to Rosenburg saying he would prefer to stay in England or go somewhere in Spain. He is another player who has also been on the fringes of the first team for a while now but never got the opportunity to play much.
11:30 – Ben Woodburn has joined Sheffield utd
We all knew it was going to happen today but Liverpool have just confirmed that Ben Woodbrun has completed a loan move to Sheffield Utd for the upcoming 2018/19 season. I think it will be a good move for him as he will be able to play some more first team football and wish him all the best for the season.
11:20 – Liverpool FC Women Fixtures revealed Liverpool FC Women will travel to Arsenal on the opening day of the season, they will play Manchester united women at home before that in the Continental cup on the 19th August. Other stand out fixtures for the for the Ladies this season include Chelsea on 28th October and Man City on 4th November. They will then conclude this season with a Merseyside Derby on the 12th May at home. 9:30 – Rhian Brewster Interview with Melissa Reddy The Joe.co.uk interview with Rhian Brewster is well worth a read. The youngster talks all about the decision to move from Chelsea to Liverpool at such a young age, winning the Under 17’s World Cup and how he had always dreamed of being a professional footballer. Speaking about joining Liverpool he said ” I looked at a lot of clubs and their plans but Liverpool stood out to me, I liked their approach and things just stood out to me. 9:00 – Both Mignolet and Karius to leave this summer?
A lot of talk has been surrounding these two throughout the summer and with the signing of Alisson their place in the squad is at risk. Simon Mignolet has been linked with both Besiktas and Barcelona this summer where as the latest reports from The Telegraph say that Bayern Leverkusen are interested in taking Karius. I wouldn’t like to see both of them go simply because we have sold Danny Ward meaning our back up would be Grabara or Kelleher and I don’t think either of them are quite ready to step up to second choice goalkeeper.
I think I would like to see Karisu stay, Klopp seems to prefer him more to Mignolet considering he dropped the Belgian as number one last season for the German. Mignolet is yet to return to training after going to the World Cup with Belgium so it will be interesting to see if he returns to training at all.
