The last thing Liverpool need is another injury to a midfielder but that’s exactly what they’ve got.

Jordan Henderson, as reported by Henry Winter of The Times, has been sent home from international duty to have an unnamed injury assessed, meaning he will not travel to San Marino for the Three Lions’ next World Cup qualifier.

With Naby Keita, James Milner, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott all out injured, and with Fabinho and Thiago still working their way back to full fitness after their own lay-offs, Liverpool have had plenty of midfield issues to worry about in recent weeks and now it seems like they have another.

With the big league game against Arsenal just seven days away, Henderson’s injury status is a huge worry for The Reds as they look to right their ship after a couple of disappointing league results.
Whilst we don’t know exactly what the issue is, the fact that he only has seven days to recover and be ready to face The Gunners means he must be considered a doubt for the game.

With Sadio Mane having already picked up an injury on international duty, the news of his captain having done the same thing will surely have Jurgen Klopp fuming.
