Player Profile: Memphis Depay
LFC have been linked several times with Memphis Depay and are the bookies favourite to sign the Dutchman this summer. Transfer rumours fuelled further by his best mate, Gini Wijnaldum appearing to tap him up with constant videos and photos of the pair on Social Media.
Position: Memphis Depay is a versatile forward player who can play anywhere across the front 3
Former Clubs: PSV, Manchester United, Lyon
Best features: Dribbling, cutting inside, shooting from distance
Personally, I am convinced Memphis Depay will become a Liverpool player this season. I don’t know why, I just have a strong feeling. His versatility is something that would make him an extremely good signing for the club and the Reds should not be put off by his brief, disappointing stint at Manchester United.
In my opinion, Depay is a player that will excel under the coaching of Jurgen Klopp who will be keen to bring the player to Merseyside. Depay has scored 34 goals in 88 appearances at Lyon and was integral in the French side qualifying for next season’s Champions League campaign by scoring a hat-trick in the final game of Ligue 1 against Nice. Memphis Depay would certainly improve the squad across numerous different positions.
Chances of a deal happening: 9/10 – As I say, I’m confident about this one

Player Profile: Matthijs De Ligt
If you don’t know who Matthijs De Ligt is then have you been living under a rock for the last couple of years? Aged just 19 and captain of his current club Ajax who made it to the Champions League semi-final this year, knocking out Real Madrid and Juventus on the way. The Dutchman also became the youngest player to play in a European final when he started the 2017 Europa League final and became the first defender to win the Golden Boy award.
Former Clubs: Ajax
He is a born leader, as well as an incredible centre-half and the Dutchman already partners Van Dijk for country and the idea of the two playing together at the back for LFC is an exciting concept, despite this, I am convinced he is set to join Barcelona and that his shit-house agent Mino Raiola is just using us to boost his wages
Chances of the deal happening: 5/10 – Pearce suggested that we aren’t in the market for a centre-back this summer and as I say, I’m pretty sure De Ligt already has one foot in Barcelona. Sorry folks but this transfer would’ve been more of a luxury than a necessity, anyway.
