The Young Reds, managed by Barry Lewtas face Napoli in the first game of the Youth Champions League on Tuesday afternoon.

Lewtas’ Under 18’s lost to Manchester City on Saturday, capitulating after a dominant first half where Liverpool should have scored more than two.

Last season, the young Reds reached the last 16 before being knocked out by Dinamo Zagreb after a penalty shootout.

Lewtas is allowed to take players like Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and sepp Van Den Berg due to the competition allowing an Under 19’s side instead of the usual 18 but with the Under 23’s playing Leicester on Friday night, Lewtas is likely to pick the majority of his usual Under 18’s squad.

Jake Cain signed his first professional contract this afternoon and is likely to start to try and continue his fantastic form that he has started the season in.

Jakub Ojrzynski made his debut against Manchester City and it’ll be interesting to see if he gets another start or if Lewtas opts for Winterbottom or Jaros.

Kick off is at 1pm but unfortunately the game isn’t on LFCTV so you’ll have to follow our coverage of the game on @RedmenAcademy.
