Liverpool’s journey to the top four last season exemplified how Klopp can help this team over any obstacle – now the Reds must make it count.
AC Milan will make the trip to Anfield to kick things off with a side that will, fortunately, be without some of the quality names they had in the 2005 Champions League final. But while the Serie A side aren’t quite the giants they once were, three points is vital for Liverpool in a group where every match looks to be a banana skin.

Here’s how we should line up:
Jerzy Dudek will sit this one out as Alisson continues in goal. Klopp could opt for the same back-four here, but the cameo of Kostas Tsimikas at the beginning of the season is worthy of a start against Milan. The rest of the defence stays the same, but we could see Konate or Gomez as part of a single change at centre-back.
A full midfield swap should see Henderson start behind Curtis Jones who needs minutes. Naby Keita returns to maintain an aggressive press. The devastating injury to Harvey Elliott means someone must now step up; the bar was set high by the 18-year-old.
Firmino comes into the front three which is otherwise unchanged. With Crystal Palace coming up on Saturday, Klopp should look to make some changes around the hour mark to introduce some options from the bench – Minamino could flourish more in European games.
The Rossoneri have won three from three so far this season which means we will see a confident Milan side, but that should play into Liverpool’s hands with Klopp having much stronger fire-power at his disposal.
