So here it is. The Champions League semi-final, second leg. Liverpool v Barcelona. Two of the best sides in world football competing for a place in the final. A somewhat dampened affair with Barca taking a 3-0 lead into the game but you know what, fuck it.This Liverpool side have proven to us time and time again this season that they don’t give up, that they fight for everything, they fight for the badge and they fight for the fans. Yes we might be 3-0 down with a mountain to climb against some of the worlds best footballers, but have hope in your heart. Enjoy it. Be proud of this team.We caused plenty of problems last week and we can do it again tonight. Ok, I know we have no Bobby…or Mo….Or Naby. But anything is possible. I’m also hoping we have a bit more luck or rub of the green tonight compared to last week. Hope is the only thing getting me through this week to be honest. If I see Messi bang one in from 100 yards or Sadio Mané have 13 shots cleared off the line I think take up another sport. I’ve heard badminton is alright like.Anyway on to Barcelona….

With La Liga all tied up Barcelona were able to rest everyone in a 2-0 defeat to Celta Vigo, former Liverpool player Iago Aspas getting on the scoresheet. Yeah, that fella who can’t take corners. The line up was sickening to be honest, players you’ve never heard of, they even gave Thomas Vermaelen a run out. Piss take. However, Ousemane Dembélé went off in the 6th minute with an injury so it looks like he will be ruled out of tonights fixture.Other than that you can expect a full strength Barca team at Anfield later which means the return of Luis Suarez and Phil Coutinho. I reckon the pair of them to be booed start to finish. Nothing personal, just small margins. Sorry lads. (Not sorry)Luis thinks he might be fine…..Luis Suárez: ‘I think there will be more applause than whistles for me. If people want to whistle and that makes them happy – there may be quite a few who are not happy – but I think there will be more who are happy and grateful’ Onto the line up.Easy pickings to be honest, I think they will go the same as the reverse fixture. They know we have no Mo or Bobby as mentioned before and they obviously know we need to go for this. It’s set up quite nicely for them. They did take their chances to be fair. They have the experience and discipline to soak up Liverpool attacks, maybe a nice early goal from Liverpool can change that and put the shits up them a little bit. They also have Messi and Suarez ready to counter, not looking forward to that but it is what it is.A European night under the lights at Anfield and anything is possible. Soak it up, enjoy it and sing your heart out, wherever you are watching it.Up the reds.Ross
