Tough one that. Bayern worked hard and clearly showed they were happy to defend from the start. Liverpool just couldn’t break them down. Well we could, we just couldn’t finish. Some superb performances; Hendo, Gini and Naby, particularly in the first half. Matip and Fabinho also worthy of mentions as the concern before the game was the loss of van Dijk. Not that Bayern could be arsed attacking most of the game.Shame not to score. But a clean sheet in our favour. The tie isn’t over.Let me know your thoughts below or on Twitter. Reckon him and Neuer had some sort of bet on to see who could shit more people up.Trent – 6.5Wasn’t shite but had to be weary of his defensive duties tonight. Still a threat from deep and set pieces with his delivery. Hard lines at times tonight too, worked tirelessly against a well organised and stubborn Bayern side. Matip – 7.5For all the hype, mainly from BT Sport, Matip did a solid job filling in for Virg. Not that Bayern ventured forward that often. Not a fan of the passing back to Alisson so often which created one hairy moment but on the whole I thought he played well, should have scored too.

Fabinho – 7.5Fuck me his composure in the slidey is boss. Worry creeps in, them BOOM. Fabinho’s won the ball, left someone in a fucking heap and then walks away cool as ice. Like Matip, I thought he did well in defence in the absence of Virg.Robertson – 7Quieter than usual tonight Robbo. Still never put a foot wrong, got forward when he could but was restricted due to the way Bayern set up and played. Still want him to bang one in like Riise one day.Hendo – 8DID YOU SEE THAT PASS TO MO?? He CaN oNlY pAsS sIdEwAyS tHoUgH.Terrific in setting the press, leading and fighting for the cause. His best game for a while in my opinion.Gini – 8Played with the shits the other week and had one of his best games. He carried that on tonight. With his performance, not the shits. He’s a fucking animal.

Keita – 7.5Possibly his best performance for me. Up there with his two games v Bournemouth. Maybe we should play them and Bayern every week….or anyone beginning with B really. Joking aside he’s growing in confidence and he’s found a role in this side that suits him. Up the 4-3-3. Mane – 7Needs to work on his overhead kicks does Sadio. He’s had a week to work on them! Still the spark that drives countless attacks. Ran and ran at Kimmich and got the fella booked for the second leg. Happy days. Frustrating at times, especially when the score is tied or close. Sometimes his finishing is world class, sometimes its more Lukaku. Might come to rue those missed chances come the end of the tie. Salah – 7Another tough one for Mo. Bayern have quality in defence and they know what Mo is capable of. He showed glimpses of pure brilliance at times and was unlucky with the final ball or finish. Firmino – 7There are some things Bobby can do with a ball that shouldn’t be for under 18’s! So quick with his feet or forward thinking it’s hard to keep up with. When he’s on his game he really makes Salah and Mané tick. Really unlucky in parts tonight.
