Liverpool V Brighton | Things We Learned

Liverpool sit top of the league heading in to December after beating Brighton 2-1 at home.

A sigh of relief and shouts of happiness engulfed Anfield come the final whistle after a very hard fought win against Brighton. A crazy moment by Alisson put us down to ten men leading to a free-kick for Brighton that was nicely finished by Lewis Dunk.

Was impressed with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain today, full of energy and is willingness to score was evident. He excels in that midfield role and I would be very happy if he starts against Everton on Wednesday night.

Despite a dodgy end to the game, this team has a desire and willingness to grind out results and get the points that we need to stay at the top. Mentality monsters is something that will be talked about all season.

My Centre Half

Get you a centre back who score two headers in six minutes

We where very much on top before those two goals went in but it didn’t seem to be clicking in front of goal for the forwards yet so two headers from two set pieces was well deserved and perfectly timed.

Forwards Need To Step Up Next

Big match for us on Wednesday and that means every single player needs to be on their A game.

Mo Salah needs to get back to scoring goals again as he hasn’t quite been on the ball in the last couple of matches, took a knock that left him out of the game at Palace so we need to take that in to consideration but really need him back fit and firing.

Sadio Mane offers the most threat going forward for me so as long as he keeps doing what he is doing then the goals and chances will come for him.

Roberto Firmino is almost the forgotten man in this front three but his work rate puts him above the rest. He got his goal against Palace but I would still love to see more from him.

Everton Up next

A bug game against Everton awaits us on Wednesday night and i’m very much looking forward to this game! The nerves are always high for this match but I have every confidence in the team getting three points.
