The first big clash of the season sees the Reds come up against Chelsea who, once again, have bought themselves into title contention.
While it was a forgettable game the last time out against Thomas Tuchel’s side, Klopp’s Liverpool are a different side to what they were back in March.
The winner of this one will gain ground in what is shaping up to be a tightly contested title race, making the effect of a full capacity Anfield even more significant.

Here’s how we should line up:
News of a fresh contract for Andy Robertson has seen the Scotsman commit his future to the club until 2026. Of course, Kostas Tsimikas has been excellent in Robertson’s absence, and while the Scotland captain comes back in for this one, Klopp now has a viable cover option at left-back.
Virgil and Matip have allowed a couple of chances in behind where Alisson has come to the rescue, so it’s important mistakes aren’t made against a more dangerous Chelsea side. Still, two clean sheets mean no changes at the heart of the defence.
Fabinho could be set to return to the midfield behind an in-form Naby Keita which begins the competition for midfield places. With control in the middle of the park crucial against Chelsea, I’ve gone for Thiago to start.
A dilemma upfront comes in the way of the decision looming over whether Klopp starts Diogo Jota or Roberto Firmino. Of course, Firmino fares better against stronger teams where he has more space, but Chelsea are also one of the best defensive sides in the league. Klopp should stick with Jota for this one.
Chelsea’s start to the season sets this game up to be a tense 90-minutes, but a good start and full Anfield should be the difference. I’m going for an unenjoyable, nailbiting, and exhausting 1-0 victory.
Score prediction: Liverpool 1 – 0 Chelsea
