Liverpool beat Everton by one goal to nil and go through to the next round of the FA Cup thanks to a stunning striker from Curtis Jones!

These Kids Are Alright.

Wow wow wow.

What a performance from the youngsters tonight. Harvey Elliot had Luca Digne on strings throughout the game and him and Neco Williams played exceptionally well down that right-hand side, Pedro Chirivella in midfield was running the show. It feels like the Portuguese midfielder has been on the fringes of the team for years now and i’m still surprised to see him at the club but in games like tonight and Arsenal in the cup a few weeks ago he has shown what he is capable of.

Nat Phillips at the back had a wobbly opening 15 minutes but I think once he settled a bit and was the first to a few headers and tackles he was able to get himself in the game. Larouci coming on for an injured James Milner and having basically no fear was lovely to see as well and the amount of talent we have coming through this squad is great to see.

Curtis Jones take a bow. What a brilliant goal that was and the audacity to even take the shot in the first place! He said in his post-match interview that he has been frustrating over the last few games because he hasn’t had the opportunity to play much, that just shows how confident he is in his ability and at 18 years-old he has a bright future.

Every player in that team this evening should be proud of their performance tonight, a match that most Liverpool fans thought we where going to lose turned out to be a pretty good one and I’m buzzing for this team and our club.

Senior Players Are Alright Too.

Adrian was brilliant for us this evening, those couple of saves he made in this first half kept us in the game and he deserves a lot of credit for how he played. The second half he didn’t really have that much to tbh.

Adam Lallana was absolutely brilliant tonight and would be my pick for man of the match, he took over the captains armband in the first half from Milner and was the most senior figure then in the team and what a game he had. I feel like he plays with no fear and no regrets, his passing was brilliant, his pressing and eagerness to win the ball back gave everyone else in the team confidence and that was a performance of a true leader.

You could argue that Joe Gomez was a senior figure in the team tonight, after Milner went off he then became the leader in that back four and what a job he did.

Divock Origi up front too, just love the guy.

Tottenham Up Next

Big away game against Spurs up next and we will all of our players fresh and raring to go and fingers crossed we can come away with a good result!
