Liverpool beat Flamengo 1-0 in Qatar to become Champions of the World!

Best Team In The World

We’ve said it before and i’ll say it again…Mentality Monsters!

This team just never gives up and that is something that has been evident for a while now but games like this prove it. Everything was going against us tonight and it looked as though we wouldn’t be walking away with anything but the team pushed through and Bobby Firmino takes the glory once again!

We can all agree that Bobby hasn’t been on goalscoring form this season but he has rose to the big occasion in these last two matches and won us this trophy.

This is a big statement from our club and for what we want to achieve in the future, us winning the Champions League was not luck or a fluke and people need to recognise how special this team is and if it continues going the way it is then Liverpool will be a very successful club in the next few years.

Fingers crossed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlains injury isn’t severe and that he is back on the pitch soon because I do not want us to be another midfielder down and he can really help us this season.

Also, Andy Robertson deserves the world.

Joe Gomez

I thought Joe Gomez was exceptional tonight.

He is a much better player at centre-back than he is at right-back and tonight he was brilliant, his recovery pace was highlighted again and that first challenge he made in the first-half when Trent mistimed his tackle was sublime. Made up for him and hopefully he continues to put in the performances over the next few matches.

Leicester Up Next

A top two clash awaits us on Boxing Day and it is important that we carry this momentum into what will be a very difficult away fixture. Leicester lost this evening meaning that they will be well up for the game on Thursday night but I’m sure the boys can do the job.
