Liverpool backed up an opening night victory in the Europa League with three more points in the Premier League over the weekend to further cement Jurgen Klopp’s 2.0 side as a force to be reckoned with once again this season.
The Reds’ attention now turns to Carabao Cup matters and the visit of Championship table toppers Leicester City. This is a fixture that was recently played out in the same competition, with Takumi Minamino the late hero before Diogo Jota stole the show from the spot.
Albeit a quadruple challenge appears far-fetched, the strength in depth at Klopp’s disposal means any Liverpool XI will be one full of quality and hopefully enough endeavour to get a result in almost any circumstance.

Predicted XI
With a difficult trip to London to face a rejuvenated Tottenham on Saturday it appears unlikely Klopp will go full strength for this one and instead it’s imminently possible a similar lineup to the one seen in Austria last week is utilised.
As such, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are both almost certain to drop out of the starting XI with further opportunities given to the likes of Ben Doak, and Stefan Bajcetic following their bright displays.
My XI: Caoimhín Kelleher, Stefan Bajcetic, Jarell Quansah, Joe Gomez, Kostas Tsimikas; Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch, Harvey Elliott; Ben Doak, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo.

Redmen Reacts
Although this is almost certainly bottom of the list of priorities for The Reds this season, with the squad at Klopp’s disposal, this competition shouldn’t be viewed as a distraction but instead a chance to get important minutes into lads, rest others and rotate where necessary.
Keeping squad members sharp ahead of a huge campaign is imperative and further rounds of both domestic cups is an ideal opportunity to do exactly that.
Therefore, as Pep Lijnders alludes to, work out how to win, get it done, and move on.
