Isn’t it weird how quickly your mood can change in the space of five minutes?

Oh Mane Mane

Name me a better player right now.

Sadio Mane has been exceptional for Liverpool for a long time now but has gone under the radar at times due to the stand-out performances from his counterparts Mo Salah and Bobby Firmino but how many times has he got the ball rolling for Liverpool in games like today. His goal today was a great finish but I was more impressed with how alive he was to the pass, that ball was played so many times during the first half with neither Mo or Sadio being able to get on the end of it but their persistence paid off and thankfully Mane was able to slot it home.

100 games and 50 goals. What a guy.

Too Much Sloppiness

I’m not going to dwell too much on the negatives today because the most important thing is coming away with the three points but there were moments in today’s game when Leicester could have really made us pay. Several of our players struggled to keep hold of the ball at times and couldn’t string a pass together if someone showed them how.

Leicester gets their goal in the second half and we can all agree we were worried for a second, nice finish from James Maddison so at least he has that to go home with.

It got to around 70 minutes and you could see the effect that the last couple of games has had on our players, Bobby looked knackered so I was happy that he went off, same with Gini and even Mo and Mane couldn’t be bothered anymore. Thankfully Mane stayed on otherwise we could be having a very different conversation.

All in all, I think we need to just be better in possession at times and not let teams have even a sniff of the ball. Three points tho so who really cares ey?

Man United Next

International break now (yay, so excited…) so hopefully no one goes away and get’s injured or some players take the opportunity to have a well-deserved rest. After those two weeks, we head to Old Trafford for what will be a difficult game despite how Unted have performed so far this season. However, I have every confidence that the Reds can go there and get a decent result to keep us at the top.
