Liverpool v Norwich | Player Ratings

I cannot tell you how much I needed that performance and result today. Boss to see the reds back in action and boss to see how clinical we were. Having said that it could have been more.Norwich provided a threat on numerous occasions and probably deserved their goal. Defensively we still look a bit shaky at times. Bobby and Mo look dead sharp and I pray to god Alisson is ok.Alisson – 7Tested quite a few times by Norwich, didn’t help himself with some sloppy passes but he made some crucial saves. Fingers crossed he’s ok and he only came off as a precaution. Bet Simon Mignolet is fucking fuming.Trent – 7.5Honestly can’t fault the lad going forward, he got one assist and he could have had more. Defensively he looks like he’s lost a bit of confidence. Sané and Sterling were at him last week and he got done a few times tonight. Boss going forward though so a decent score.Gomez – 6.5Bit all over the show for me at times, which is a surprise. van Dijk was going mad at him on several occasions, could be a bit of rustiness or lack of confidence. We all know what he’s capable of and we won so I won’t be too harsh.Virgil – 8Will be fuming not keeping a clean sheet and with the amount of times Norwich breached our defence. We are usually so much better at being organised. Took his goal well and kept his cool, calm as you like.Robbo – 7.5Back to his usual high standard. Often the overlap, delivered quality balls into the box and could have even scored in the first half. Sound.Fabinho – 8Solid performance from the Brazilian destroyer. Continually plays on the front foot this lad and he doesn’t take any shit in the process. Might not be full of flair but his role shouldn’t go underestimated.

Hendo – 9 He was EVERYWHERE. Bossing it in that advanced role. Like the rest of the midfield he pressed high and won the ball back several times. Always looked to get forward where possible. Boss.Gini – 8Does the shit stuff quietly. High energy and high pressing from Gini. His tenacity was integral to tonights performance.Salah – 9Had all those chances against City in the 50p trophy and saved it for today. Great little finish. He was relentless tonight, always making runs, always looking to caused problems and always looking to score. The man looks full of beans already!! Oh and he got an assist!Bobby – 9Persistent in the press, tenacious around the field and some lovely link up play. I fucking love Bobby. Great to see him back and a nice little assist for Mo too. Wish he’d scored though, especially that volley in the first half, would have been something special.Origi – 8Said earlier in the week he isn’t that effective down the left. How wrong was I?! Lovely assist early doors to set up Grant Hanley. Clever run for his goal too. First half he was excellent but went a little quieter in the second.
