By Lewis Thompson – @LewisThomps0nAfter a long international break club football is back and this weekend Liverpool take on Spurs at Anfield in what you could say is one of the toughest opponents the Reds have to take on in the final games of their pursuit of the Premier League title. With many of Liverpool’s key players sitting out of their country’s international games, Klopp’s men will be looking to come back with a bang and earn all three points against Spurs.Spurs have only won one of their last 12 games against Liverpool in the league, losing seven and drawing four. Their only win amongst those 12 games was a 4-1 win back in 2017. The last time Liverpool lost to Spurs at Anfield in the Premier League was in May 2011 with Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric both scoring to help their team to a 2-0 win over Dalglish’s men. That 2-0 defeat was the only loss in Liverpool’s last 24 Premier League home games against Spurs, The Reds have won 15 out of the 24 and have drawn eight. After recently getting an MBE for his services to football, Harry Kane will be a real concern for Liverpool’s back line. The English man has been involved in four goals in four Premier League appearances, scoring three and getting one assist. As well as this, Kane will be looking to stay ahead in the race for the Golden Boot with him, Salah and Mane all sitting on 17 goals.

Mauricio Pochettino will be missing English duo Harry Winks and Eric Dier as both have injuries. Eric Dier had to withdraw from the England squad during the international break after picking up a groin injury in the 5-0 win over the Czech Republic. As for Harry Winks, he is still struggling with a groin injury. Another injury concern for Pochettino is Ivorian international Serge Aurier as he picked up a hamstring injury during the international break. Now onto my predicted line-up for the game. I think Pochettino will start with a five-man back line in a 5-2-2-1 formation. I think Hugo Lloris will start in nets for Spurs, in-front of him I feel the five defensive players will consist of Rose and Trippier acting as wings with Vertonghen, Sanchez and Alderweireld in the middle. Then I believe the two centre midfielders will be Eriksen and Sissoko, out on the wings I think Dele Alli and Heung Min Son will start, then this leaves danger man Harry Kane up top as a single striker.Yet again three points has to be the outcome of this match for Liverpool. Nothing less. With Manchester City picking up a win against Fulham, The Reds must win against Spurs to stay on top of the Premier League. I’m going to go with a 3-1 win for Liverpool with Salah scoring all three for Liverpool and Kane getting one for Spurs. Tell me what you think the score will be, COME ON YOU REDS!!By Lewis ThompsonTwitter @LewisThomps0nChris spoke to Flav, of the One For The Weekend Podcast and The Fighting Cock, to preview Sunday’s Premier League clash with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
