Liverpool v Watford | Things We Learned

Well, that was lovely.

What A Team performance

This team was brilliant tonight and it is very hard to pick out one individual player for Man Of The Match.

There was a lot of talk before the game about who would replace Bobby, would it be Sturridge or Origi? Would Salah play up front and Shaqiri come into the team on the right?

Klopp obviously went with Origi and it definitely paid off, his movement was good and he was always looking to create a chance and driving at the defenders and he got his goal too which is great to see and that will give him a big confidence boost.

I thought Mo Salah was great tonight too, Watford seems to be the team that he enjoys playing against but unfortunately he didn’t find the back of the net but he really gave their defenders a tough time tonight and it was great to see him causing problems for people and looking like the player we have all be looking for over these past few weeks.

Fabinho deserves a shout out too, his tackling tonight was second to none and he has become a real rock in midfield for us.

Magic Mane

6 goals in six games for Mane. Phenomenal.

He has been brilliant this season, some of his performances have been overshadowed by others but he fully deserved all the accolades he receives tonight because he played really well. Both his goals where great finishes too, the audacity to take that second goal as he did, it was a real strikers instinct and if that was Aguero, Kane or Rashford then it would be plastered everywhere so let’s hope he gets the same treatment.

That Guy Virgil

Mane was worried for a second.

Who’d have thought that Virgil Van Dijk would walk away with two goals tonight? He is an absolute rock in that defence and he has coped brilliantly in recent weeks with all the different partners he has had and really took on the leader role in defence too.

Alisson Alisson Alisson!

28 appearances. 16 clean sheets. 15 goals conceded.

I saw a tweet just after the game that Alisson would have won the Golden Glove by now if he was playing in 14/15, 15/16 and 16/17. He didn’t have much to do but when he was tested he did brilliantly and pulled off a great save in the second half from striker Andre gray which could have made a bit of a difference.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Three assists tonight for the young full-back, his and Robbo’s assist competition is getting tasty now.

Brilliant performance from Trent tonight and it shows just how much we miss him when he doesn’t play, his passing is brilliant as we all know and that will give him a big boost for all of the upcoming games and really help his confidence.

Big Game Sunday

We could not have asked for a better result going into the Merseyside Derby on Sunday. This win will give all the players a massive boost and get them geared up for the all-important Derby and fingers crossed that Alisson keeps his clean sheets going and maybe Divock breaks a few hearts again…

I could go on forever about this performance tonight but that would be pretty boring for you lot reading.
