Liverpool V Wolves | Things We Learned

Liverpool end 2019 with a win having beat Wolves by one goal to nil at home.

Once again VAR take the headlines.

I don’t know what’s going wrong with the system, it clearly has it’s uses as Adam Lallana did not handle the ball in the build-up of our goal. Virgil Van Dijk did handle the ball in the build-up however so unsure what the outcome of that was but it is what is and they clearly didn’t think it affected the goal.

Wolves then equalise, their goal is ruled out for offside and I have to be completely honest with you, it was a bit harsh.

I hate having to discuss stuff like this because people have different opinions and whatever I say someone is bound to disagree with me but I do think that the whole system needs to be looked at. The point of VAR is to help the referee out and it does that but at the end of the day it still comes down to one persons opinions and that is never going to change.

Virgil Van Dijk – 100th Appearance

Calm as you like. That little turn on their striker in the second half, sent the lad to the shops.

Sadio Mane – 150th Appearance

Get’s his goal this evening and well deserved, you can tell he was annoyed that he didn’t get in on the action on Boxing Day so buzzing that he added another to his tally tonight.

Jordan Henderson – 350th Appearance

Huge congratulations to those three players, vital to our squad and how this team performs and runs. Jordan Henderson making his 350th appearance for us this evening is a remarkable achievement and he ends the decade as the player who has made the most Premier League appearances with 308.

Sheffield Utd Up next

A tough opponent awaits us on Thursday evening.

Sheffield are having a brilliant season and no one expected them to be where they are in the league and no doubt they will give us a game but it is important that we get 2020 off to a good start and continue on the path that we are going down!

Happy New Year everyone!
