Liverpool put three past Leicester City at Anfield thanks to goals from Jonny Evans (OG), Diogo Jota, and Roberto Firmino!
Three Points & A Clean Sheet
Three points and a clean sheet against a great Leicester side and joint top of the Premier League. Not a bad Sunday.
A great overall team performance from Liverpool this evening with every player performing brilliantly for the entire 90 minutes. Alisson Becker had a relatively quiet evening but did his job when called upon, James Milner can literally play everywhere and perform well, was nice to see Fabinho back in the starting eleven and he will be a huge boost for our squad.
Andy Robertson deserves a mention also considering the amount of football he has played over the last few weeks. I wasn’t expecting him to play the full 90 minutes tonight considering he had a little niggle while away with Scotland but he was probably running on pure adrenaline considering the week he has had. He’s already a favorite but his levels of consistency and just outstanding performances week in week out is still something I’m so impressed with 3 years on.
I was impressed with Curtis Jones’ performance tonight, his sixth appearance so far this season and he has taken his opportunity every single time. It was great to see two academy graduates linking up down the right too at times with Neco Williams coming on as a substitute for Naby Keita in the second half.
The front three just speak for themselves really don’t they? Sadio Mane will be disappointed that he didn’t get on the scoresheet tonight, Diogo Jota was on fire yet again and looks to be an absolute bargain at 40 million pounds and I’m just so happy for Roberto Firmino.

A New Record
64 consecutive home league games unbeaten. WOW.
What an achievement for the club this evening. A record that has been in the making since April 2017 and proves just how far this team has come over the last three years and just how good of a squad and a team we have. Anfield is a fortress and each team who comes here will be thinking of how difficult it will be to beat this team every time they step out on to the pitch.
Bobbyyyy!!
I’m so so so happy that Firmino finally got a goal at Anfield tonight! There’s no denying that he has been in a rut for a while now and he’s had some opportunities over recent games to grab himself a goal but it just hasn’t happened. He had several chances tonight but everyone and everything was getting in his way but he continued to threaten and he got his well-deserved reward in the end. Let’s hope this gives him a real boost for the upcoming fixtures and he adds a few more goals to his tally.
Atalanta Up Next
Champions League action starts again and last time out against Atalanta we had a pretty decent performance so let’s hope we see the same again on Wednesday evening.
